This RT-PCR test uses a sample taken from a throat swab to detect RNA and determine whether or not you are CURRENTLY infected with Streptococcus pyogenes (Group A Strep)) and/or select respiratory viruses including Influenza A, Influenza B, Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV), and rhinovirus. Depending on the volume of tests being performed that day, and the location where the sample is taken, this can take as little as 30 minutes or until the end of the next day.
